Rising from the ashes!

$

I have a confession. I threw some Temp-tations knowingly into a bonfire. I unpacked a large set, and included were the small measuring spoons that say "tad" "dash" "pinch" and so on. I already have more measuring spoons than I need, so I threw the box (with the spoons still in the packing) into the burn pile in the back of our property. Yes, I did it on purpose, I just didn't want them.

After my husband burned (and these are huge very hot bonfire type burns) I noticed something blue sticking up out of the ashes. I dug in and found several of the spoons. They were still intact, no chipping, no cracking, no crazing, no discoloration after I washed them off. I brought them back into the house, as I felt they had earned a place in the kitchen, surviving the fire in that condition.

Now, how do we get the rest of the products to perform like this under just normal use and heat?

Temp-tations becoming a disappointment for many

I belong to a group on Facebook for Temp-tations collectors. There has been a lot of disappointments in how Tara's products are being received broken. Some from QVC and others from Tara's own site. It seems when someone calls customer service on Tara's site they are being treated very rudely. Most don't want to help resolve the problem of items being received broken. Some of us are feeling since no one seems to care about packaging and making an order right that we will no longer be purchasing Temp-tations until Tara takes care of the problems in her product.

Items are being received broken and/or hand painted very sloppy. This wasn't always the case but seems to be here recently. I for one will no longer purchase her product until I see her Customer Service Representatives treat customers like they should with respect.

Tara, you are going to loose a lot of customers if you don't do something about the problems we are having.

Bread basket harvest pattern K37825

Does any know if the bread basket will be available in the harvest pattern this fall? I have several other harvest pieces and missed out last year on this basket. I don't want to mix in the falletti.

Thanks in advance for any heads up you are able to give me. This pattern sells out so quickly, I don't want to miss out again.

I'm calling out Q moderators for deleting posts.

I, for one, am sick and tired of posts that disagree with the poster gkelly5744 being removed from the Temp-tations forum. So many times when people present a contrasting opinion, supported by facts and quotes from other posters, they are removed from the thread.

I don't know and understand all the rules that govern the removal of certain posts, but it seem as though this above mentioned poster is reporting these posts as inappropriate, and they are being removed. Most often, the removed posts simply request gkelly5744 to provide supporting facts about the statements she posts, as well as contain customer's personal experiences with the products sold on this website.

I, and other posters who may wish to add agreement to this post, want to know why and how this is occurring repeatedly, yet her posts that accuse people of lying and dishonesty remain.

If no one else wishes to step out, I will, and ask QVC just why this poster seems to have protected status, especially since she is vehemently defending a very large volume selling brand on Q. It presents the appearance that Q is eliminating views that question the safety, quality, and integrity of the Temp-tations brand, when customers share their experiences.

What is the point of a forum, if there can't be a complete exchange of DIFFERING opinions and viewpoints?

It would be nice to get a set of Temp-tations that would include a lazy Susan, a napkin holder, and a toothpicks holder. What do you think? Thank you.

Chipping of Old World Dinnerware

I was wondering how to go about getting a replacement for one of the bowls that comes with the Old World vivid dinnerware set. I have serve for 12 and one of the bowls has a good size chip taken out of it. I am very disappointed as we are very careful with the dinnerware and I have them a little over a year. It may have chipped in the dishwasher but I cannot say for sure. Hoping I can replace it, I have the set in cranberry and I love it. Thank you

Hi, I have searched all over this site for todays recipe that was cheesy chicken casserole. Does anyone know where it can be found. She said it was on this site but I am not having any luck. I found one under temptations but it is not the one they were talking about because it already has some ingredients she mentioned that she just added because she had it left over. Please help me find it. Thank you

Received E-mail from Tara About Old World Yellow

Just wanted to share that I e-mailed Tara's site and asked about the lack of OW Yellow on QVC. The e-mail stated that it was not her choice but QVC's not to offer yellow. She suggested writing QVC and telling them I wanted to see more yellow. I was surprised I didn't get the standard seasonal excuse. So guess I will be e-mailing QVC. I really need more Old World Yellow (not really) !

Did anyone order the Temptations Pumpkin? Spice or White? I gave in and ordered it in the spice. I won't bake in it, but can see using it for Halloween candy maybe. I liked Jill's idea about using it as a small punch bowl.

I love making cornbread in a skillet. I preheat my skillet, pour my batter in and bake. Have you ever thought about making a dish in the shape of a skillet?

Ordered the Floral Lace Sentiments set of 3 bowls H202698 in the brown. Checked them all out and all had flaws. Really rough bottoms that when you rub your finger over them they could cut you. Thought about sanding them like I do my polish stoneware but they also had missed painting on 2 of the bowls and it stood out. These were to be a wedding gift and no way was I giving them. So I sent them back. Debating whether to try another set or not. Thought the sentiments added a extra touch to the bowls.

Posted review on this and only gave it 3 stars...never has been posted. Don't know how long it takes for them to be posted, and it may show up and then again it may not. Have had some of mine that I have given less than 4 stars on not posted.Wasn't ugly about it just stated the facts.

Will keep checking to see if it gets posted or not.

Hi Tara, I love Temptations! I have a request.

Could you make some stemless wine glasses in all your patterns. I think they would sell

and be something different.

Thank you,

I THINK IT'S TIME TO PULL THE PLUG ON TEMP-TATIONS.

I'm sure this thread will get "poofed", since QVC has possible ownership with Temp-tations.

At the least, I'm sure they have a healthy contract with a long-term life expectancy.

I , however, am now of the believe that they will sooner or later have to discontinue it because of customer dissatisfaction.

I am not investing in it any more due to the chronic reviews and comments from people who are having problems with breakage, cracking, and other problems. Many people are stating that new pieces are arriving with glazing problems, poor quality, cracks, nicks, patterns that aren't put on properly, and such.

In general, what I see and hear is that the original quality has really gone down as the prices are increasing. If this line can not stand the test of time, but ends up costing as much as the early so-called "competitors", such as Corning, Rubbermaid, Tupperware, and other hard-glazed cookware and bake ware, I am not about to invest in it. I do know these brands have passed the test of time for microwave, oven and freezer for sure.

I may be alone in my thinking, and hopefully so for those of you who have spent a lot of money and are very happy with your purchases.

My concern stems from the number of complaints that are arising with the popularity of this brand.

My fingers are crossed for each of you. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Blessings.

Just wanted to post again about my Temptations negative dangerous experiences as a precaution for consumer usage

$

It's that time again. As promised I said I would update when we were ready to resume our travels abroad again.

I know consumer safety should take precedence over profits.

Just as QVC Hosts always refers to their QVC members being part of their family time and again on national television, I too consider myself a QVC family member and part of their family too, and have for over 22 years.

The truth will prevail and will not be silenced as many of these posts and threads have been in the past, but if I am banned as a result of posting this then it would be worth it, if only to warn others that these Temptations items can become a danger for consumer and other related usages.

"One thing remains is the internet has others who have also posted their negative experiences, so the truth will continue to prevail" because until this is acknowledged and addressed and resolved by the manufacturing process others will purchase and possibly also suffer these product usage dangerous accidents and Temptations consumer related experiences.

QVC was also recently notified by other QVC members that many Temptations negative posts are being removed and threads totally disappear by the actions of one QVC member who does not like to read of any negative experiences.

Their reply was that all Temptations replies and threads should be allowed to remain on the QVC Community forum bb's, since we all have the right to post of all of our Temptations consumer usage experiences whether pro or con. They also stated they would investigate this removal of negative replies and threads.

I also know from my dangerous Temptations experiences, as well as all the other negative dangerous experiences and complaints also posted here, and on the internet as well, that this Temptations line sells defective products.

In addition to my numerous posts relative to my numerous Temptations defective dangerous consumer usage experiences, I am doing my utmost to issue a warning of what I experienced personally, so other consumers would also be aware of what may also occur to them when using their Temptations items.

They break while in a hot oven cooking as others also posted on the Temptations category.

This is the joy I personally experienced when using some of my Temptations bake ware and serving bake ware refrigerator items...when they performed flawlessly I loved them, but when they displayed being defective and dangerous it was time to trash them to ensure no one would ever experience the consumer related dangers which both I, and my dinner guests did, on 3 separate occasions.

My casserole filled with hot food straight from the hot oven broke in half in my hands as soon as I took it out of my hot oven, and to the shock and dismay of myself and my dinner guests who had a clear view to my Temptations bake ware consumer defect accident, we all watched in absolute horror as I let the oven hot broken Temptations halves go, and they crashed on to my kitchen floor.

The larger broken halves broke into smaller pieces, and the smaller pieces broke into tiny ceramic sharp dangerous shards , and the hot food was thrown everywhere.....on my kitchen floor, on my kitchen appliances, on my kitchen walls.

"Believe me I felt no joy whatsoever having to be very careful not to burn or cut myself when cleaning up that hot defective Temptations bake ware kitchen accident disaster mess".

My dinner guests were truly horrified that these made in China Temptations bake ware and serving items could be so defective, and consumer related dangerous to use.

Only by the grace of God did I manage to jump back and avoid getting seriously burned and cut from the hot cooked food and the broken sharp defective ceramics which exploded into many pieces when they broke in 1/2 and then crashed to my kitchen floor.

My other two experiences were with Temptations serving pieces which were also serving and oven bake ware items.

They were filled with cold salads and broke in the hands of dinner guests while being passed to each other at the dinner table. "I AM JUST SO THANKFUL NONE OF MY DINNER GUESTS WERE CUT AND INJURED".

Other Temptations pieces were crazed, and many also cracked too, as noted by others as well in their negative Temptations posts.

"These Temptations defects have been posted and noted for years, long before a Temptations category was ever enacted".

Nevertheless they continue to endanger consumers and the vendor is aware from all the internet posts here and elsewhere on the internet, that there are serious defects and accidents which occurred, and were publicly posted on the internet, and yet the only actions to date is their complete silence.

Well in my absence I hope others will keep posting their negative and positive experiences so we can all know what we can expect from a product line such as this Temptations line, which evidently has had too many "too close for comfort consumer related disastrous hot from the oven breakage defect accidents, and product breakage, while handling with no misuse whatsoever".

I was never angry or disappointed when I had to trash my entire vast Temptations Collection.

I was relieved that this dangerous product line was trashed by me so no one else could use it and possibly experience the dangers we did.No wonder so many Temptations items now appear on sale and on clearance.

Some things must take precedence over profits, and consumer usage and safety is the foremost consideration which should be # 1 when an item is manufactured and sold to the public.

What I and my dinner guests all personally experienced was consumer shock that these dangerous items were sold to me, and to others and are still being manufactured without decent quality control.

Temptations product manufacturing consumer usage safety enactments must be acknowledged and implemented now.

Temptations good quality control should be restored now.

In view of all the numerous negative dangerous consumer related experiences posted on the internet for years, all the above should be investigated, acknowledged and enacted upon now, because consumer safety must take precedence over profits.

How bakeware can break--and it makes sense.

$

Bakeware cannot have abrupt temperature changes, nor can you bake a casserole, for example, and then switch it to broil to brown the top. If you have a hot piece of bakeware, when hot, the bakeware can break if it is placed on a wet surface or handled with a wet cloth. You can't place it on direct heat, in a broiler, or use the microwave browning features. Sudden or abrupt temperature changes will cause it to break. If you take a meal, which frozen in bakeware, and put it in the oven, put it in a cold oven--then turn the oven on and let the oven and the bakeware warm together so there is no abrupt temperature change. Never place an ice cold piece of bakeware, from the freezer (or ice cold fridge), into a heated oven--it may break.

Okay, the above is a "Use & Care" summarization of bakeware I've had in my family for nearly 1/2 a century, first my mom's and now mine. Not one, honestly, has broken, snapped in half, fallen to pieces when taken out of an oven. One has a crack because I put a casserole dish right from the refrigerator into an already heated oven (my fault). It didn't crack in 1/2, but there is a crack I can see on the bottom I noticed after it was washed.

Is this Temptations ware? No. But same idea in care and warnings, I would imagine.

i saw someone mention the seashell pattern on another thread. i dont see any of the seashell pieces available right now. is this a retired pattern or does temptations bring it back during the warmer months? i would love to have some of that pattern for my beach home which is done in a "beachy" theme.

Has anyone ever home-tested pieces for lead? I wondered about this because of all cracking and crazing mentioned.

Has it been assured on TV that it's lead-free?

nice article about tara and the temptations line from 2013

nice article about tara, temptations, and the business from mid-2013. not sure if anyone has posted this here before.

here is a small portion of the article and a link to the entire article.

At Coordinated Strategic, Temp-tations' growth spurt meant many of its 25 employees were needed to support an in-house brand. By 2009, Temp-tations was so big that company principal Ed Tesher argued it needed to be spun off as a separate company. McConnell was the natural choice to lead it.

"She had the vision for the brand," Levine said.

Temp-tations was recapitalized in a transaction led by Prudential that made McConnell an owner. Thomas Oreck, former CEO of Oreck Corp., joined Temp-tations as CEO to mentor McConnell. The company employs 11 people handling finance, design, logistics, and other aspects of the business.

McConnell wouldn't disclose Temp-tations' sales but said it had sold 10 million sets of merchandise in its 10 years - 75 percent of those sales in the last three years and 1.6 million sets in 2012. Assuming an average price per set of $32, that places Temp-tations' sales at about $50 million last year. (In September, it launched Buytemp-tations.com.)
